Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage in St. George, UT

Target chronic muscle tension and recover faster with specialized deep tissue therapy at my St. George studio.

About Deep Tissue And My Approach

Deep tissue massage is not just about pressing harder. It is a very focused modality that aims to penetrate deeper into the layers of muscle and connective tissue (fascia). With slow strokes and prolonged application of strong pressure, deep tissue therapy aims to dissolve the adhesions—areas of hardened and painful tissues that form "knots". The goal is to physically release those restrictions and make the movement easier and improve blood circulation.

The technique is extremely efficient for people who suffer from persistent muscle tension or limited movement ability. Deep tissue massage is recommended to athletes that train intensively (see Sports Massage), people that work at the desk (especially experiencing stiff muscles in their neck and shoulder), people suffering from chronic back pain, or those who have suffered an injury before. In case you experience constant feeling of "lock-ups" in your muscles or regular massages do not relieve your pain, deep tissue massage is the perfect solution for your problem.

How does deep tissue massage at Pinnacle Massage differ from the one you can receive at a generic chain spa? I have a highly clinical approach and aim to help you get better. While typical chains offer to lie and endure heavy pressure with a set of predefined techniques applied to the entire body within some time limits, I try to analyze the movement limitations that you have and apply the specific treatment accordingly. I also focus on continuous feedback regarding your comfort and pressure tolerance.

So if you’re experiencing pain or soreness from a hike in Snow Canyon, recovering from a training session at Summit Athletic Club or experiencing tech-neck pain from all-day computer work, take the first step to recovery by booking a deep tissue massage session with me.

Intake Process

Before we start the massage I will ask you several questions about your pain, where it’s located, how it’s been affecting you and the best way to communicate with each other during the session so you’re as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

I do not suggest deep tissue massage to anyone who has recently had surgery, has a bleeding disorder, taking blood-thinning medications, or those with a history of blood clots.
