Relaxing Swedish Massage in St. George, UT

Relieve stress, anxiety or just relax with a Swedish Massage at my St. George studio.

About Swedish Massage And My Approach

Swedish massage serves as the base from which all the current massage techniques emerged. It has received recognition across the globe due to its unparalleled capacity to provide full-body relaxation. Unlike any other clinical technique meant for deeper work, Swedish massage incorporates a series of long and gliding strokes called effleurage and petrissage – kneading of muscles.

The purpose of this technique is warming of the surface layer of muscles, stimulation of blood flow and the lymphatic system. The aim of the procedure from the physiological side is down-regulating of the nervous system in order to get away from "fight or flight" and enter the state of deep relaxation.

This modality is suitable for various clients, especially those who favor the light touch approach. It is recommended to everyone as a perfect starting point for massage treatment. This technique is strongly recommended for people dealing with high levels of stress, for office workers with superficial tension of their shoulders and for those struggling with insomnia and burnouts. If your purpose is to disconnect yourself from the world, release stress and emerge relaxed, this type of massage is the best option for you.

What’s the difference in receiving a Swedish massage in my studio vs. going to the usual chain spa is the element of intentionality. Most generic spas offer their clients Swedish massages which consist of a set of obligatory movements performed by the masseur. In my studio I know that relaxation should be individual, therefore I consult you first in order to establish where your stress is located – neck, shoulders or heavy legs and tailor my pace, attention and pressure accordingly.

So if you’re experiencing soreness from one of many hikes in Southern Utah, recovering from a training session at Summit Athletic Club or experiencing tech-neck pain from all-day computer work, take the first step to recovery by booking a Swedish massage session with me.

Intake Process

Before we start the massage I will ask you several questions about your pain, where it’s located, how it’s been affecting you and the best way to communicate with each other during the session so you’re as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

I do not suggest Swedish massage to anyone who has recently had surgery, has a bleeding disorder, taking blood-thinning medications, those with a history of blood clots, fragile bones or osteoporosis.
